Local 4 has learned a tentative settlement has been reached in a civil lawsuit that involves former Detroit City Council President Monica Conyers.
Conyers was brought back to Detroit from "Camp Cupcake" federal prison where she is serving her 3 year sentence in a bribery case.
She is accused of forcing the firing of Theodis Collins in his job as a counselor at Mariners Inn after he filed recall papers against Conyers in April of 2009.
Mariners Inn was up for a grant from the city and Conyers allegedly used that as leverage.
The settlement is contingent on the Detroit City Council approving a payout of $75,000.
Mariners Inn is also paying an undisclosed amount.
If the council votes down the city share, the case would go to trial in federal court in Detroit.
U.S. Marshals say Conyers could be moved back to West Virginia within a few weeks.
