HARPER, Kan. -

An outdoor ceremony in rural central Kansas made for some memorable wedding photos.

Caleb and Candra Pence had just said “I do” when a tornado touched down just a couple miles away from their outdoor wedding, in Harper.

"I couldn't ask for better pictures,” Candra said.

The massive tornado was in clear view of the dozens of guests at the wedding, but the groom’s mother says it was no big deal.

"It’s just Kansas, it’s just who we are,” Carla Pence said. “It’s like wheat fields, cowboys and tornadoes, what more can you ask for?"

It was the first time Candra, a Nebraska native, had ever seen a tornado. It was also the first wedding twister the photographer had ever shot pictures of.

"This is a first and a last,” she said. “I don't plan on getting anything like this ever again."

The tornado was about eight miles away. It caused serious damage where it touched down, but there were no injuries.
