U-M event focuses on environmental justice
The University of Michigan is organizing a conference focusing on the legacy and future of the environmental justice field.
The three-day event starting Thursday at the Ann Arbor Sheraton Hotel aims to offer insights from leading activists, academics and government leaders. The conference also recognizes the efforts of Bunyan Bryant, an activist and researcher at the university's School of Natural Resources retiring after 40 years.
Organizers say the conference will be most relevant for people in communities fighting pollution, dumps and other adverse environmental conditions. The event is open to the public but registration is required.
