VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Van Buren Township police said a 17-year-old has confessed to several break-ins at the Haggerty subdivision over the last couple of weeks.

Police said an investigation into the break-ins led investigators to come up with a suspect and put him under surveillance.

The suspect, who doesn’t live far from the area where the break-ins were reported, was seen leaving his home by investigators. He was then spotted entering a home in the Haggerty area. He was then seen bringing out stolen property.

The suspect, Brian Bernard Baker, is charged with second-degree home invasion. Additional charges are pending.
