Video from a Lathrup Village police car's dash camera shows Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh getting pulled over in his black Range Rover.
The video shows Suh driving on Southfield Road and passing vehicles in the right lane before the lane ends. That's when the officer made his move to pull Suh over.
The officer's tone with Suh may seem slightly abrasive in the video. He reveals why the Lions player is getting pulled over. He said Suh was driving carelessly and he broke the law by passing vehicles on the right.
Suh apologized twice.
"I was trying to merge," he said, to which the officer replied, "You weren't trying to merge you were passing vehicles. You merged at the very last second."
The officer wrote Suh a ticket for driving without due care and caution and careless driving.
Lathrup Village Police Chief William Armstrong said Tuesday he's not sure the citation will hold up. The chief was awaiting a call back from the city attorney to discuss the case.
Armstrong says he watched video footage of Suh's driving that day and thinks "the charge doesn't fit."
