A Warren man has pleaded guilty to spousal abuse in the death of his 400-pound wife.

Michael Brooks, 37, was charged with neglecting his wife, 40-year-old Yolanda Reese-Brooks, which, prosecutors say, ultimately led to her death.

Reese-Brooks was found inside the family's apartment in October with bed sores and covered in her own waster. She was removed from the home by a hazmat team.

She later died at a hospital.

Police called the apartment "uninhabitable," with no beds for the children and only rotting food in the refrigerator.

Brooks will be sentenced March 13.
