WARREN, Mich. -

Warren police want more information on a vehicle shown on surveillance video which, they say, is connected to a man who stole a Chevrolet Suburban Monday night with a baby inside.

The thief later ditched the vehicle, leaving the baby unharmed in the back seat. The 4-month-old child was reunited with her father. He had called 911 with a frantic plea to find the stolen vehicle. He had left it unattended and unlocked at a gas station parking lot near 9 Mile and Hoover roads. He later admitted his lapse in judgment and could face a charge.

Thankfully, police quickly found the vehicle parked just a block away. The baby was sleeping soundly in the back seat.

Police have surveillance video from the Metro gas station. It shows a green sedan which police believe was driven by someone who knows the man who exited the car and stole the SUV.

The video shows someone exit the car, enter the SUV and drive away. The father is seen exiting the gas station store as he realized what had happened. He ran in the direction the SUV went. The car then drove off, too.

Police want to talk to the owner of that green sedan.

Anyone with information should call the Warren police.
