Wayne County Executive wants taxpayers to foot the bill for his legal fees

Wayne County – Local 4 has learned Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano is asking taxpayers to help pay for legal costs.

He's expected to ask Wayne County Commissioners Wednesday to consider a $350,000 contract to pay a defense attorney to gather materials for a Grand Jury.

Local 4 cameras were on the scene when FBI agents armed with subpoenas walked into Wayne County offices and ordered County Executive Robert Ficano and key staff members to save files, e-mails and everything related to the FBI's probe ino possible county corruption.  All of that material has to be gathered and turned over to the feds.  The FBI was led here by Ficano's pay out to his former Economic Development Director Turkia Mullin.

The payout led to a massive probe into who is getting county contracts, and exactly how your tax money is being spent.
