The Wayne County Treasurer has announced the 'show cause' hearings schedule for property owners facing foreclosure due to non-payment of taxes.

The state-mandated hearings are held for property owners who haven't paid taxes in three consecutive years -- 2010, 2011 and 2012.

As the property tax collection agent for the state of Michigan and local Wayne County municipalities, the Treasurer's Office staff will be onsite to meet with property taxpayers to review each situation, make payment arrangements and discuss assistance options that may be available.

Notified property owners should bring all information received from the Treasurer's Office on the Show Cause Hearing.
