Wayne County judge sued by Detroit-area man over relationship with woman in child support case

A Detroit-area man says his civil rights were violated in a child support case because a Wayne County judge was having a sexual relationship with the mother of his child.

Robert King of Macomb County's Clinton Township filed in federal court Monday against Judge Wade McCree and Geniene La'Shay Mott.

King says the judge last summer ordered him to wear an electronic tether until he paid child support.

The Michigan Supreme Court last week suspended McCree without pay, two months after a Detroit TV station reported on the judge's relationship with Mott.

Mott says she regularly had sex with McCree and became pregnant with his child. McCree hasn't commented.

In October, the state Supreme Court reprimanded McCree for sending a shirtless photo of himself to a court employee.
