Authorities in West Michigan say a man broke into a pig farm, slashed two 300-pound sows and stole a third one that later was found butchered in his refrigerator.
The Ludington Daily News and MLive.com report, 28-year-old Christopher Lee Abbatoy of Bitely was arrested following the Saturday break-in at Valley View Pork Farm in Oceana County's Colfax Township.
He was arraigned Monday on breaking and entering, larceny of livestock and malicious destruction of property charges.
A message seeking information on whether Abbatoy had a lawyer was left by The Associated Press with a District Court official in Hart.
The sheriff's department says workers arriving at the farm Saturday found an extensive amount of blood.
They found the wounded sows and noticed a third missing.
The wounded sows were later euthanized.
