Westland father sentenced to 27- 60 years in prison for beating death of infant son
Josh Wilson pleaded guilty to severely beating son who was found bruised from head to toe
A Westland father, who pleaded guilty to the beating death of his infant son, was sentenced in a Wayne County Court on Tuesday.
Judge Edward Ewell ordered Josh Wilson to spend 27 to 60 years in prison for his crime.
Wilson and his girlfriend Kelli Worth-McBride were both charged after 3-month-old Joshua Jr. died in December.
Police say the infant had been severely beaten. He was bruised from head to toe with several broken bones. Investigators say Joshua died from blunt force trauma to his chest.
Wilson had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on April 23.
Family members say both parents suffer from mental issues and that Child Protective Services had been working with the family since Joshua's birth.
Worth-McBride was referred for a competency exam.
