Two people, including a 10-year-old, are in critical condition after their car slammed into a tractor-trailer early Friday morning in Berlin Township.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the tractor-trailer driver was pulling out of a Marathon gas station on Newport Road just east of Newport Towne Drive when 31-year-old Danielle Romanoski’s Pontiac Grand AM hit the back of the trailer as it crossed the eastbound lanes. She and a 10-year-old who was in the car are hospitalized.
The 52-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t hurt.
The Sheriff’s Office said speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
