Authorities in Lansing said a woman was apparently shot in the head by a stray bullet during the city's Fourth of July fireworks show.
The Lansing State Journal said Mayor Virg Bernero issued a statement Thursday calling the Wednesday night shooting of the 34-year-old Lansing woman at a park a "senseless act of violence."
Police said the woman was hospitalized Thursday.
WILX and WLNS reported that when she was found she was apparently having a seizure, and the bullet wound was found by medical officials.
Bernero said investigators don't believe the shot was fired from within Adado Riverfront Park, where nearly 100 police officers were deployed.
Police were seeking tips from the public in the case.
