Ypsilanti police: Suspected thief found hiding in bush
Police say suspect has several stolen items on him
Ypsilanti police say a suspected home invader and thief was found hiding in a bush and arrested Tuesday.
Police said a 51-year-old man pulled up to his home in the 1300 block of West Cross and saw someone jumping out a window.
He confronted the suspect, who took off running.
Police locked down the area and went yard by yard to search for the suspect, who they said was eventually found under a large bush in the 200 block of Oakwood.
Police said the suspect had several stolen items on him: A laptop, several game systems, a video camera, digital camera, jewelry, loose change and other electronics.
Police said some of the property appears to have been stolen from other home invasions.
The 23-year-old suspect is expected to be arraigned this week. His name has not been released.
