ACLU Michigan set to announce class action lawsuit on behalf of Flint families

Press conference to be held in Flint to announce details of lawsuit

FLINT, Mich. – Details of the class action lawsuit will be announced at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at Saints Of God Church In Flint.

The ACLU of Michigan said in the press release announcing the lawsuit that thousands of school children are at risk of education woes, due to the ongoing water crisis.

"Tens of thousands of families in Flint have been exposed to toxic lead in their drinking water. Given the permanent damage that lead can do to children, the water crisis can only exacerbate educational woes in Flint-where children are already being denied their right to a quality public education. That's why this legal action is necessary,"  Kary Moss, executive director of the ACLU of Michigan said.

In addition to the ACLU of Michigan, New York and New Jersey attorneys will join the legal team representing Flint families.
