Two other people were injured, but those injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The 25-year-old man who was killed was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

Police said alcohol and drugs are believed to be a contributing factor in this crash.

What happened

Police said it's still unclear who passed the center line. A 24-year-old Sterling Heights man was driving a Chrysler Pacifica with the 25-year-old man in the passenger seat. The Pacifica collided head-on with a Ford F-150, which was driven by a 27-year-old Troy man.

The 24-year-old man suffered minor injuries, as did the 27-year-old. Both could face charges, police said, because the 27-year-old is being investigated for alcohol and the 24-year-old is being investigated for drugs. The 27-year-old is being held in jail for now.
