A Detroit police officer who is already suspended because of a shoplifting case has now been charged with drunken driving.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Dana Bond, 41, is accused of crashing her car Sunday afternoon into another car on Memorial and Plymouth roads. A 19-year-old and a 16-year-old inside the other car were hurt.
Worthy said Bond tried to drive away, but crashed into a snow bank.
Bond was arrested on charges of having high blood alcohol content, failure to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident and failing to stop at the scene of an accident with property damage. All of her charges are misdemeanors.
Authorities have not released what Bond’s blood alcohol content was at the time of the crash.
Bond was suspended after being charged in August with retail fraud for two incidents where she allegedly stole wine and food from two different stores in Detroit.
Bond is scheduled to have jury trials on both cases on April 15.
