DETROIT - The Virginia State Police have canceled an Amber Alert for an 11-year-old boy who they initially said could be traveling to Detroit with his alleged abductor.
The Russell County Sheriff's Office had been looking for Lucas Ezra Silas Guinn, saying they believed he was in extreme danger after being last seen at Lebanon Middle School, Lebanon, Virginia. Authorities had said Guinn was likely been taken by his non-custodial father, Jimmy Donald Guinn.
However, police released an updated statement Friday morning saying the boy safe had been found in Virginia. Police didn't immediately release any other details about where the boy had been or who he was with.
