Backpack and cash stolen during armed robbery on UM campus

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan campus police in Ann Arbor say a gunman got away with a backpack and cash Saturday night.

According to a crime alert, the victim was walking near the corner of Ann and Observatory streets around at about 10:30 a.m. when he was approached by a man who had a black handgun.

Police said the victim wasn't hurt, but the gunman got away with his backpack and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The gunman is described by witness as a black male, 6'2", thin build with dark complexion and short hair, wearing a black hoodie, wearing blue and white tennis shoes. No glasses or facial hair.
