Arrest made in Farmington Hills party store murder

Friends, family create makeshift memorial for Duraid Lossia

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Loyal customers have been still paying their respects at a makeshift memorial for 59-year-old Duraid Lossia. The party store owner was gunned down during a robbery at Tom's Party Store in Farmington Hills on Saturday.  His body was found by a customer.

People who knew him called him Dave and said the father and husband was taken from them too soon.

The family did not want to release a photo to Local 4 but said this is a horrible time in their lives and they want justice.

Police said a 43-year-old Detroit man was arrested Monday morning for Lossia's murder. The case has been turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor's office for review and appropriate criminal charges are expected to be filed soon.

A funeral mass is planned for Wednesday morning at the Mother of God Church in Southfield.
