Auburn Hills man killed in early morning crash

Accident on M-59 to Squirrel Road claims one life, leaves another man injured

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – A 29-year-old man from Auburn Hills was killed early Monday morning when the car he was driving ran off the eastbound M-59 ramp to northbound Squirrel Road.

The preliminary investigation shows the 2004 Chrysler Sebring ran off the ramp into a wooded area.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The passenger, a 24-year-old Southfield man, was transported to McLaren Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac with serious injuries.

Investigators from the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) comprised of crash investigators from Auburn Hills, Troy, and Bloomfield Township Police Departments are investigating the crash.  It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
