August parade of Mini Coopers on Mackinac Bridge aims to set Guinness World Records mark
Mini drivers to cross bridge on Aug. 3
A planned parade of small cars next month across the Mackinac Bridge is part of an effort to set a Guinness World Records mark.
State officials say a mass Mini Cooper crossing of the five-mile span connecting Michigan's Upper and Lower peninsulas is scheduled for Aug. 3. -- Mini on the Mack.
After gathering in Mackinaw City, drivers plan to head across the bridge to St. Ignace.
The event involves the Mackinac Bridge Authority, a Mini dealership from Grand Rapids and owners of the small cars.
Officials say the current record mark for a Mini Cooper parade of 1,450 was set by in 2009.
