A 4-week-old baby in London is recovering after a fox dragged it from its cradle and bit off one of its fingers.
The rare attack happened Wednesday while the baby was sleeping, BBC News reported.
The baby's mother told authorities she heard screaming followed by a loud thud as the baby was dragged to the floor.
She had to kick the fox repeatedly to get it off the baby, whose finger was eventually re-attached in a three-hour surgery, The Daily Mail reported.
The baby also suffered puncture wounds to its forehead, but is expected to fully recover.
Authorities are investigating how the fox got inside the house, according to The Telegraph.
