YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. - We are told not throw the baby out with the bath water, but don't tell that to members of the Ypsilanti Township fire department. They helped deliver a baby boy in a bathtub Wednesday evening.
The 36-year-old mother had a delivery due date of Nov. 11 and had seen her doctor earlier in the day. She was told the baby was not imminent.
The mother went shopping and returned home tired.
She decided to take a bath.
That' when the baby decided to arrive.
A 911 call brought members of the Ypsilanti Township fire department. They helped deliver a baby boy in a matter of minutes.
The mother and baby were taken to a hospital, but only as a precaution.
