Police search for man who was thought to be barricaded inside west Detroit home

Drug Enforcement Administration was looking for man before standoff

DETROIT – Police are searching for a man who was thought to be barricaded in a home that was surrounded by authorities Tuesday on Detroit's west side.

The Drug Enforcement Administration was looking for the man when he tried to run over a DEA agent. The agent fired a shot at the man for his own protection, but nobody was hit. The man ran into a house near Fullerton Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard.

Detroit police and Michigan State Police were on scene trying to get the man out of the home. They negotiated for several hours, believing he was inside.

But when they finally went inside the house, the man wasn't there.
