BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Bloomfield Township police have released the picture of a woman who is wanted in connection with a rash of mail thefts.

Police said the woman was caught on store cameras at a Target in Ypsilanti. She had used banking information that had been obtained from stolen mail in Bloomfield Township earlier this year, police said.

The thefts have been reported since early summer in neighborhoods north of Long Lake and west of Woodward.

Police said whoever stole the mail was probably looking for checks.

Police warned anyone who was mailing sensitive information not to leave it for a carrier in their home mailbox, but take it to a post office or put it in a secured post box.

Anyone with information on the woman in the picture is asked to call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
