Transportation companies and busses that normally pick up and drop off in the GTC were driving directly to the terminal.
Here's the updated information from DTW:
"The Blue Deck parking structure and Ground Transportation Center (GTC) at Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s North Terminal reopened around 4:45 p.m. today. The areas were closed while Airport Authority Police investigated a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was deemed suspicious because it was in the Blue Deck for more than a month and its license plate was not registered with the state. During the course of the investigation, a K-9 dog detected an anomaly. Once it was determined to be a false positive, operations returned to normal. At all times, safety and security were the top priorities of the police department and the airport’s federal partners. The Airport Authority appreciates the patience and understanding of our customers during the investigation."
