VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich – One man was saved but another man died when their small fishing boat capsized on Belleville Lake Saturday evening according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.
Neither man was wearing a life jacket when a wake from a passing boat caused their vessel to flip over, according to the Van Buren Police.

One man was able to swim to another boater for help.
After a 2 hour search, divers from the Wayne County Marine Division and the Van Buren Police Department were able to recover the body of the second man.
Nearby residents heard cries for help and called 911 for assistance.
