DETROIT – Bobby Ferguson will return to court in September to be retried on federal bid-rigging charges.
On Friday, U.S. District Court Judge David Lawson set the date of Sept. 10 for the former Detroit contractor.

Lawson also set Aug. 21 as the date for a final pre-trial date and Aug. 21 as the deadline for any plea agreements.
Earlier this week, Ferguson was assigned a court-appointed attorney -- Mike Rataj.

Ferguson's first trial on the charges -- which include conspiracy, money laundering and obstruction of justice -- ended with a mistrial last year.
He's accused of obtaining millions of dollars in public works contracts through false statements and bid collusion.
He's also accused of making false statements in a proposal as part of the Garden View Estates project, a public housing development in Detroit.
In a separate trial earlier this year, Ferguson was found guilty in March of racketeering and corruption charges in a trial he faced alongside with Kwame Kilpatrick.
