DETROIT – An investigation is underway, after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle on 8 Mile Road on Detroit's northwest side.
The man's body was discovered early Sunday morning, near the intersection of Rosemont and 8 Mile Road, just west of the Southfield Freeway.
Investigators said the man had recently been assaulted, and fled from that encounter, wandering into the left lanes of 8 Mile Road. That's when another car struck him and fled the scene.
That driver has not turned themselves in to police at this time. Police said the suspect vehicle is a black pickup truck.
