DETROIT – Michigan State Police and DNR police are investigating the discovery of a body on Belle Isle.
In a statement, police said the body was found Sunday evening near the abandoned zoo.

Police said the body appears to have been there for a "long period of time," and that it had not been identified yet.
Police also said it doesn't appear that foul play was a factor in the death.
