Bomb-sniffing Marine dog laid to rest at Michigan War Dog Memorial

Cena had bone cancer

SOUTH LYON, Mich. – A Marine dog that had bone cancer was laid to rest Saturday in South Lyon.

Cena, a bomb-sniffing black Lab, was euthanized last month in Muskegon.

Hundreds of people – and dogs – gathered to celebrate the dog’s life one last time.

Cena was cremated and given military honors at the Michigan War Dog Memorial.

“In every aspect of Cena, he has shed blood, pain, sweat and tears for this country,” Lance Cpl. Jeff DeYoung, Cena’s owner, said.
