Bones found in old Ashley hotel don't appear to be human

Police working to find out if remains are human

DETROIT – Bones that were found in a wall at the old Ashley hotel in Detroit don't appear to be human.

Deputy Police Chief Darryl Brown said about six bones were discovered Tuesday while construction crews were demolishing a kitchen area on the first floor. An initial examination by a medical examiner determined the bones don't appear to be human remains.

The hotel is being renovated into apartments.
