Bookstock 2017 kicks off in Livonia

Event hours: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

LIVONIA, Mich. – If you’re an avid reader, today is one of the best days of the year for Metro-Detroiters. Today marks the kickoff of the annual book stock sale where book worms will be able to find books, books, and even more books!

Bookstock 2017 started with a loud bang from the Livonia Churchill drum line and quickly turned into what the event is all about – books.

At Bookstock,  you can find just about any type of book, and the books are all sold at a discounted price with all books costing less than $4.00 each.

Bookstock is the largest used book sale in the country. Each year, more than 250,000 books are sold. Some of the books are hard to find and are highly valuable.

The event is presented by Mike Morse from the Mike Morse Law Firm.

“The smartest people I know are readers and I want everybody to read I want everybody to have the books they want “Morse said.

All proceeds from Bookstock go towards literacy programs in the Metro-Detroit area.

Along with books, CDs and records are also for sale.

Bookstock will continue from today until next Sunday, and new books are being added to the sale tables each day, so you’ll always be able to find something new.
