Grandmother of young boy left at Fox Theatre contacts police

Ushers find young boy wandering around theater

DETROIT – The grandmother of a young boy who was found inside the Fox Theatre upon the conclusion of "Sesame Street Live" contacted Detroit police late Friday night.

Detroit police arrived at 8:30 p.m. Friday at 2211 Woodward Ave., where ushers had found the child wandering around the theater.

Police said the child can only say what is believed to be his name, which is Damon.

The boy was taken to the 3rd Precinct at 7310 Woodward Ave.

The boy's grandmother called police late Friday night to say she was on her way to pick up the child.

It's unclear how the boy was left behind at the theater.
