BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - Birmingham Public Schools is taking a new approach to the hiring process, by inviting qualified elementary teaching professionals to an upcoming job fair.
To receive one of 300 invitations offered from the district, interested parties are invited to complete a survey. The ultimate goal of the job fair, to be held March 15, will be to create a pool of 50-75 qualified professionals from which the district can interview when openings arise. Each year, BPS hires approximately 15-20 teachers to fill vacancies and new positions.
"We're proud to have such qualified, talented teachers in our district," said Dandridge Floyd, BPS Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. "The creation of this talent pool will allow us to continue to place high caliber teachers in our classrooms who are dedicated to the students in our community."
The survey can be found online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JoinBPS and will close on March 7.
