This $6.2 million project is expected to start in August and be completed by September 2014.

The existing lights need to be replaced on average once every 13 months while the new cooper LED lights are guaranteed to meet minimum lighting levels for ten years according to the Airport Authority press release.

Airport Authority CEO Tom Naughton says the new lighting system "will improve the lighting in our parking facilities, reduce energy consumption, save maintenance costs and shrink our carbon footprint."
