Brownstown Animal Shelter wants to pair vets with pets

BROWNSTOWN, Mich. – The Brownstown Animal Shelter is hoping to match veterans with dogs and cats … for free.

The program launched this month and aims to help improve mental and physical health for veterans by giving them a loyal companion.

There is a limit of two animals per veteran.

Proof of military service is also needed.
