Campus Martius Celebrates Motown Anniversary

DETROIT – As a tribute to Motown's 50th anniversary, Campus Martius will be filled with Motown themed events and music Friday as apart of the Fridays with Ford series.

Live entertainment will begin during Lunchtime Arts from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. featuring an array of artists from the Concert of Colors July event. Alternative soul vocalist Karen Bosco and The People Next Door will follow, performing from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Edward Gooch will recreate various Motown songs and take the main stage from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A cake cutting event will take place at the Motown Historical Museum at 7:30 with Alto Reed and the Detroit Classic Rock All-Stars following at 8 p.m. Lastly, "Standing in the Shadows" will be shown on the big screen at 9:30 p.m.
