DETROIT – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced Wednesday that border services officers had seized firearms and magazines at the Ambassador Bridge.
On Sunday, a Lasalle, Ontario, woman arrived at the Ambassador Bridge and was referred for secondary examination. Border services officers discovered three undeclared loaded 9 mm prohibited firearms and two prohibited high capacity magazines in her vehicle.

CBSA Criminal Investigations charged the woman with Customs Act offences of making false statements, possession of unlawfully imported goods and smuggling. In addition, charges were laid by Windsor Police Services.
"The CBSA places a high priority on the detection and interdiction of undeclared firearms and prohibited weapons," said Rick Comerford, Regional Director General, Southern Ontario Region. "This is the direct result of the diligent work of CBSA officers who use their examination skills, as well as overall training, to detect smuggling attempts."
The CBSA reminds all travellers that they are required to answer all questions truthfully and declare all goods they are bringing into Canada, including firearms and weapons in their possession. Failure to declare goods, including firearms, and other Customs Act contraventions may lead to prosecution in a court of law.
