Crash kills 1, injures 3; home damaged on Evergreen Rd.

DETROIT – Accident investigators from the Detroit Police Department are trying to piece together what caused a deadly crash Tuesday morning on the city’s west side early.

Cierra Nicole Bean, 20, was killed and three others were taken to the hospital after the car they were in crashed on Evergreen Road, near 7 Mile Road.

The SUV hit a light pole, jumped the curb and hit a home. Bean was ejected from the vehicle.

“My little sister being thrown from a vehicle honestly seems unreal,” her brother, LaRonte Bean, said. “Nobody deserves to go through what me and my family are going through right now.”

The car was upside and in several pieces on the front yard of a home when it came to a stop.

"I had just talked to her yesterday and now I’ll never see her again,” LaRonte Bean said.

Bean's family said the driver was drag racing on Evergreen Road.

A young man found Bean's phone near the crash. He charged it and called her mother, informing her of the death.

Evergreen Road was closed in both directions between Clarita Street and Pickford Avenue for the accident investigation.

No one was inside the home at the time of the crash.
