Car ends up on top of another car in front of house in Royal Oak

Car crashes into another car, rests in front of house on Coolidge Highway

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A car ended up on top of another car on the front lawn of a house Wednesday afternoon on Coolidge Highway between Normandy and 13 Mile roads in Royal Oak.

The car on the bottom was parked when the silver car struck it. There was no one inside the parked car.

The 57-year-old woman driving the silver car was up and walking after the crash. Police say she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at William Beaumont Hospital.

Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. The woman was traveling southbound on Coolidge Highway and tried to turn on eastbound Normandy Road. She lost control of the car while turning and traveled southbound in the northbound lanes of Coolidge Highway.

That's when the car left the road and hit the parked car.

There is a lot of damage done to the home's landscaping.
