Local 4's Carmen Harlan sat down with Cooper to talk about his life's adventures.

His mother is Gloria Vanderbilt, the founder of Vanderbilt jeans and heiress to the Vanderbilt fortune.

His brother committed suicide when Anderson was in college.

His father passed away when he was just 10-years-old.

"I think when you lose a parent at a young age the world seems like a much scarier place," Anderson told Carmen.

"I have been working as a reporter for 20 years. When you've been doing it this long you look at things not only as a reporter but also as a producer so I often just speak my mind."

"Anderson" can be seen weekdays at 3 pm. on Local 4.
