CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A number of catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles in Canton Township, according to police.
There have been 5 incidents over the past week in Royal Oak, multiple cases in Canton Township and several in the Melvindale area.

The majority of these thefts have happened in highly populated parking locations such as apartment complexes and shopping centers.
The thief crawls under the vehicle and cuts the converter off, usually with a saw.
