DETROIT – Local 4 has obtained the written resignation letter from former Detroit City Council president Charles Pugh, who was relieved from his duties after failing to get medical leave he requested and then being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a Detroit teen.

He has turned in his resignation letter to Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey which reads:
"It has been an honor to work with you at council and the Election Commission. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the city we all love. I have accepted an offer for employment elsewhere. Because of that, I am stepping down from my position on the Detroit City Council immediately.

Pugh has been spotted in other cities over the past few months including Seattle and most recently New York. Detroit.
