MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

A 5-year-old boy is recovering after being thrown from a dirt bike in Macomb Township.

Police said the boy was riding on the dirt bike Sunday afternoon with his mother's 27-year-old boyfriend.

Witnesses said the 27-year-old was "jumping" hills on the west side of Garfield Road when the boy fell off.

The boy was taken to Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township before being taken to Children's Hospital in Detroit.
