West Bloomfield father of 7 shot, killed Nov. 7 in Detroit

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – The seven children of Samir Hannawa, of West Bloomfield, are appealing for help to catch their father's killers.

On Thursday, Samir Hannawa's family joined with Crime Stoppers of Michigan to appeal for help in finding his killers.

Daughter Athra Hannawa said robbery was not the motive in the killing.

"They didn't take anything and my dad had about $900, his watch, his jewelry, his phone. They didn't take a single thing," Athra Hannawa said.

Daughter Valentena Hannawa spoke for many of her siblings as she talked about what her father meant to her.

"I don't like to think about how he died. I like to think about the times we had together. He just always tried to help us have a positive attitude and a great outlook on life," Valentena Hannawa said.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
