If vendors are found in violation of the ordinance they could face fines, arrest and have fireworks confiscated.

In 2012, the state of Michigan started allowing the sale and use of fireworks. The current law states fireworks may be used until midnight on designated days.

Fouts said the city of Warren will challenge the state law by ticketing people who use fireworks after 11 p.m.
