Clarkston police report stranger danger incident on Tuesday

Incident happened near Pine Knob Trail and Pine Knob Lane

CLARKSTON, Mich. – Clarkston police are reporting a stranger danger incident that happened Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

A 13-year-old female student of Sashabaw Middle School was approached by a man driving a small 4-door sedan (possibly a Chrysler Sebring or 300) near Pine Knob Trail and Pine Knob Lane. The man rolled down the car window and told the 13-year-old to get into the car.

When she refused, the man turned the car around and began following her. The girl ran and hid behind a parked car and the man drove off. The girl went to her friend's home and called her mom.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with short black hair.

The Clarkson School District put out a mass email notifying parents about the incident.

Clarkson police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them at 248-625-1559.

Clarkston Community Schools sent this letter home to parents:

"This message is to let you know of a "stranger danger" incident that took place on Tuesday, March 31, after school. A middle school student was approached by a man in a small silver sedan on Pine Knob Trail, near Pine Knob Lane. The man drove by the student with his window down and told the student to get in the car. The student said no and continued walking. The car then turned around and continued to follow the student, who then ran and hid. The car stayed in the area for a while longer and then left. The man is a young black male, approximately 20 years old, and the car resembled a Chrysler Sebring or 300."
